Christian Bilingual University of Congo(UCBC) launches its activities for the academic year 2018-2019

It was after the concert of the Conference of Heads of Institutions of Higher Education and University in Beni that UCBC Vice-Chancellor Dr Honoré Bunduki Kwany announced the launch of academic activities in the city and territory of Beni, and particularly at the Christian Bilingual University of Congo.

In the week of November 21 to 24, 2018, the Christian Bilingual University of Congo organized an extraordinary meeting with students, the first Work-program activity of the year 2018-2019, 2 orientation days, staff retreats, and the dedication service of the academic year and the Downtown campus.

This day was the first meeting of members of the UCBC community on the downtown campus

First Orientation day

Organized at the Kipriani Central Campus, teachers, new and returning students gathered in the community atmosphere. During this activity the Student Guide Bienfait Ngise presented a welcoming and motivational speech to his fellows; Chaplain, Pastor Daniel Masumbuko, shared a message inspired by the book of Psalms in its 23rd chapter; Vice-Chancellor Dr Honoré Bunduki Kwany recalled the vision, mission and values of the Congo Initiative - UCBC for the entire audience; Academic Dean, CT Katimika Vavasi Felix, addressed a word of encouragement to all the young people who joined UCBC for the 2018-2019 academic year and introduced the various sub-services.  other services and sub-services were presented for new students to understand who will be their facilitators along the academic year. To close the day, new students were introduced to the library to understand how to access resources.

Second Orientation day

The second orientation day was specially organized at the Downtown campus. During this meeting:

Faculty coordinators shared with students to clarify the organization of activities within the faculty during the 2018-2019 academic year:

  • Clarification of procedures- Presentation of the practice of course evaluation by students
  • Presentation of the class schedule
  • Presentation of the LMD system. Given the depth of the topic, Vice-Chancellor Honoré Bunduki Kwany is holding a series of presentations every Wednesday morning at the Downtown campus from 8:00 am to 9:00 am for the entire community.

Congo Initiative staff retreat

On Friday, November 23, 2018 the staffs of Congo-Initiative gathered in a prayerful attitude in the room of the Center of Protestant Reception of Beni.

Dedication ceremony of the academic year 2018-2019 at the Campus Downtown

Embellished by the Ebenezer Worship-Team Choir and the UCBC Chaplaincy Team, the day of Saturday, November 24th , 2018 was:

  • A reunion day: former students returning from the internship and vacations and returning students welcoming each other filled with joy
  • A day for interceding and committing the academic year in the hands of the Almighty God
  • A dedication day for the Downtown campus
  • A day of thanksgiving
  • A day of celebration

During the session, Pastor Jean Musavuli taught around the theme "The Cross in the Christian Faith" as a foretaste of the general theme of the academic year 2018-2019 entitled " DEMOLITION AND IDEAL RECONSTRUCTION FOR A NEW CREATIVITY IN THE KINGDOM OF GOD. POINT OF NEW BEGINNING, THE CROSS »

And to close the atmosphere, a community meal was shared between the participants. Teachers and staff members served to students drinks and food as a sign of humility and love.
